"Together, well, well, well, what do we have here? We found an orange. Jamie, sure, teach your child how to steal. Excuse me, how dare you? I didn’t even know where this came from. Of course you do. This came from my orchard. That’s my orange. Your orchard is on the other side. Maybe you’re the one who stole. How dare you? This is Jamie, and that is Alex, two neighbors who could not become friends. Do we wonder why?

Stories for Teenagers
I want everybody to know that Jamie and Alex could never become friends. But, as they say, sometimes fate works in mysterious ways.
I don’t believe you lost the money. How? How can you be so careless? How can I trust you with anything? Shh, here’s the money, Dad. I thought I kept it in my right pocket, but it was in my left. No, son, I am sorry. I should have let you finish looking for it. I am so sorry. I was just worried that you were not careful.
That night marked the beginning of the friendship between Jamie and Alex. They studied together, played together, and grew up together. Soon, Jamie and Alex realized that their friendship had advanced to be something more, much more.
“I, I mean, I’m not saying you have to give me an answer now, but I, I guess it would be great if you could, I mean, you can please take your time, but you know…”
“Are you going to continue yapping and waste another year? What took you so long? We have so much to do. Oh my, the caterer, the florist, stop humming, why aren’t you panicking? We’re getting married, Jamie!”
At their wedding, Jamie felt like the luckiest man in the world. Their married life was full of happy surprises, awkward dancing, late evening dinners, and more awkward dancing. They could have asked for nothing else, nothing except what they had always wanted but could never have funny bedtime stories.
“I am sorry, we have tried every treatment, but you can always adopt.” Alex always wanted to have her own child. She didn’t understand the idea of adopting someone she didn’t know, and Jamie would never push her. Days passed, and Jamie started noticing a change in Alex. She was still his loving wife and his best friend, but something had changed. She was always sad. Perhaps Jamie knew he had to do something.
“I found it, Miss Alex.”
“Huh?”
“I found your secret, something you knew but chose to forget.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Tada! My journal.”
“Jamie, give it back to me, you cannot do that.”
“Well, I did this big gesture of plunging into the attic to give you this, my love. Tickets to Paris. Well, wasn’t that your dream when you were 12? Let’s go!”
The couple was happy for their vacation, but Jamie was the happiest. He knew that some change of place would certainly help his love. Nothing could go wrong now.
“Uh-oh, what happened? What did you do now, Jamie?”
“I might have picked up the wrong bags at the airport.”
“Yep, I did that.”
“No!”

It was true; the bags that Jamie picked up belonged to another couple who worked with a volunteer organization.
“Everything you need?”
“Everything I need? Well, right now all I need is my PJs. I am jetlagged, I want to sleep.”
Both Jamie and Alex finally adjusted to the clothes and decided to enjoy their vacation.
“Paris is so romantic, Jamie.”
“Not as romantic as Chef.”
“Chef? What? Chef, I didn’t say that!”
“I did. You were from the Everything You Need volunteer organization, right? Please help me, my kids are hungry.”
“She wants a volunteer organization because her kids are hungry. Jamie, are you sure she is not abducting us?”
“No, Madam, where are you taking us?” Dirty Creatures
It was a big house with at least ten children.
“What’s going on?”
“Oh, how rude of me. I am the caretaker of this children’s home. These kids don’t have parents or anybody to take care of them, so I do. My cook is absent today, and they are really hungry. You know how kids get when they are hungry.”

“No, we wouldn’t know, but we will help. After all, we are from Everything You Need.”
“What? They’re kids, Jamie, and they don’t have parents.”
Jamie was surprised by this sudden change of heart in Alex, but he didn’t say a word. He was just happy to see his wife smile again. The dinner spread was extensive, and Jamie and Alex were doing a great job.
“I did it, I made soup!”
“That’s brilliant, honey. I made the appetizers, main course, and dessert, but your super soup is going to shine.”
It went great, but feeding those children did something to Alex.
“Honey, you okay?”
“I was being selfish, Jamie. We cannot have a child, but we have each other. But there are so many children who do not have anybody.”
“Are you saying we are ready to adopt a baby?”
“What? No, we are ready to adopt a dozen babies.”
“What?”
“Yes, let’s take the next flight out. We are going back.”
Jamie and Alex returned home to their sweet nothings and their amazing cooking skills. Years passed, and the couple grew old, nestled in each other’s comfort and love. Jamie and Alex made a life that others would only dream of. They spent their soft mornings and cozy evenings in their routine pleasures, which continued to bring them closer even as they continued to grow older.
“I don’t think this is right.”

They lived their days in peace and happiness. And as for their children:
“I will be a dragon!”
“Well, that’s a unique ambition, my boy. Get down from the kitchen counter, Josh.”
“No, I want pancakes!”
“How will I give you pancakes when you are on the kitchen counter?”
“Mama, I have a question.”
“Baby, can this wait? I’m trying to get your brother down.”
“How in the world did you get up there anyway?”
“But Mama, you said I could come to you anytime I have a question.”
“All right, sweetie, what happened?”
“Why is the name of our house so long?”
“The House of Everything We Ever Needed?”
“That’s because all you kids are everything Jamie and I ever needed. You are all our babies, and you are enough to make us happy.”
“That’s so touching! Just by the way, Josh is about to trip the box of corn flour.”
“No!”
And that’s how Alex and Jamie spent all their lives supporting the children who had nobody and lived a disputably peaceful life.
